Crossfire Select Coaching Opportunities for 2010-2011 Season
LWYSA's Crossfire Select is seeking qualified coaches for the 2010/2011 season. Our immediate need will be to fill four coaching positions for the new U11 teams, where two boys and two girls teams will be formed. Prospective coaches who desire to coach older age teams are also encouraged to apply. A National D License and/or previous coaching experience is desirable. Interviews will be held in February 2010. This is a non-paid volunteer position.
On December 28, 2009, the LWYSA Board of Directors (BOD) voted unanimously to grant Crossfire Select club status within the association. The new Crossfire Select Club joins the other existing six clubs in the association: Eastlake, Kirkland, Juanita, Redmond, Union Hill and Crossfire Premier. Up to now, Crossfire Select was a program within the association overseen by a board appointed director. With the growth of the Select program over the past 7 years (32 teams and over 420 players in 2009), the select leadership determined that making the select program a club within the association would provide more flexibility in governance and more importantly representation on the BOD with voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. The Crossfire Select Club will continue to adhere to the basic guidelines that have made it popular in our association offering a 6 month soccer experience to players who want more competition than recreational soccer and less of a commitment than the year round premier soccer. One League for Everyone
OLE: One League for Everyone, is a program within LWYSA assisting low incomekids, playing soccer. OLE is currently is geared toward recreational players, but the goal is to expand to other programs. Volunteers are assisting with registering families, who qualify for the reduced fee, for Spring and Fall Programs. Volunteers are continuously collecting and re-distributing gently used Cleats, Shinguards and Shorts. Equipment donations can be dropped off at the LWYSA Office. In 2010 we will be accepting monetary donations specifically for LWYSA/OLE. Fees collected will be used to help players, who qualify for the reduced fee, pay for uniforms, team shirts and tournament fees, as well as other team expenses.
